About Me

I have had many professions, from which I have learnt much.  As life goes on I am educated by all my experiences.  But I must say one of my favourite’s is being a Milliner/tutor (for those who may not know what a milliner is its someone who makes hats).

I would not say I am an expert or a guru in the millinery field, but I have had the opportunity to develop my skills and knowledge at Wombourne School of Millinery for several years as the principle millinery tutor.  Working with Ann Morse-Brown as the school proprietor, and Guy Morse-Brown the leading hat block maker in the industry.

It’s a craft I actualy fell into, having first run a local hat shop, then finding a course right on my door step, and being offered an amazing opportunity to teach the reviving skill of millinery to students from across the globe has been an enjoyable journey.

My passion is to continue to share the skill and knowledge I have learnt, even tho the Wombourne School of Millinery have sadly closed their doors.

For those who are interested in learning this beautiful craft do get in touch, you will be amazed at what you are able to achieve with a little guidance.

For those I have taught and the friendships built, and the life changing decisions some have made has helped me realise building a relationship in the short or long period of time thru the workshops, builds the confidence, self development and confirmation that a new skill can be learnt no matter where you are in life.  It is fun, exciting and a joy to share such a craft, which draws out the creative thoughts and ideas hidden within.  To be able to express yourself is such a great thing and my reward is to see the expression on students faces once they have realised their achievement in such a short space of time, and to actualy come away with an end product.

I could go on and on, but as I have said earlier if you would like to learn and join the wonderful world of hat making do get in touch, I would love to share this wonderful skill with you.
